This year, Giving Tuesday falls on 29 November 2016. Giving Tuesday started in 2012. It is celebrated the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. The holiday is all about giving back.

Below is an outline of global aviation non-profits and charities that need support. Each organization supports aviation in a different way. Please consider one of these organizations on Giving Tuesday 2016.
This Oklahoma-based organization strives to provide free flights for patients that need medical transportation. The charity was formed by pilots and volunteers. The organization delivered blood products from Oklahoma to the World Trade Center – Ground Zero during 9/11. Angel Flight has a 100% volunteer staff, all proceeds go to helping patients and providing assistance for medical supply transport. To learn more about Angel Flight, watch the video.
Fallen Angel Aviator
This organization was formed in 2013 to help fallen aviators, air crew, and their families. The charity provides assistance for veterans with PTSD counseling and tries to address gaps in the traditional benefits system. Fallen Angel Aviator also provides funding to families that have lost loved ones. The organization is 100% non-profit, relying on volunteers and donations. Fallen Aviator Organization is sponsoring the Santa Paws Holiday Fundraiser. The money raised at the event will provide a veteran with a service dog.
Aviation Without Borders & Aviation Sans Frontieres
This organization takes a multi-step approach to help others through aviation. Aviation Without Borders provides aid globally by air-freighting food and medical supplies. The organization also hosts National Fly Kids Day. The event takes place in June, normally near the longest day of the year. Children with disabilities are taken on a short flight from their local airport. The event helps kids learn about flying and provides an enjoyable experience.
Fly 2 help
Founded in 2006, this organization helps disabled children and promotes education of careers in aviation. Fly 2 help operates out of 16 airports. The Air Smiles Days events are offered to people with major illnesses and disabilities. Participants are provided with lunch, hot chocolate, and cake. Fly 2 help also provides the Aim High scholarship fund to students 14 – 18 that are interested in aviation careers.
